wizard-haunted antares: character generator

WHO ARE YOU IN WIZARD-HAUNTED ANTARES?

11

my weekly Arden Vul group rotates the GM slot so the players can run occasional one-shots. and for some reason i got the bug to plan for mine what i envision to be an od&d arcade game run-through of Palace of the Vampire Queen? the appeal here to me is total embrace of dungeon minimalism. so to immediately contradict that i decided to create a mostly flavor character generator for it. the setting in my mind looking like this and taking place in the 'prehistoric past' of the Pale Grass Wastes setting of my home game, immediate post-nuclear cataclysm sci-fantasy x universal horror a la Rider of the Skulls picaresque.

i then developed acute Perchance madness after being deeply inspired by reading through Idalruna's antarctic hexcrawl posts. so, if it interests any soul out there, this generator makes a little freak for you, including: their name and epithet, a notable garment, their mask, and their petty god. they don't all work but sometimes it gives something kinda neat and evocative, imho.

some of my favorites so far:
Yig La of the Melancholy Horses
Sweet Robert of the Brutal Mausoleums
Ralph of the Spells
Zorg of the Putrid Crag
Deborah the Astonished

Azwa is from Petty Gods
Blood-Stained God from OD&D by way of REH
the Gentle Duke is inspired by the "Duke of Bones" from Stonehell.
BLANK is the color of the BLANK you wear language borrowed from Moons Over Calabeth
Ahulabrum, Thergothon, Black Winds, Cemetarian all refs to various metal stuff that is welded into my poor DNA
color list imported partially from a big list of colors which is why it occasionally says things like Office-Green and i'll fix eventually but also i kinda like it... and some names borrowed or inspired by Smouldering Wizard's awesome Holmes Basic D&D Character Generator
Death of Names is borrowed from Planescape: Torment
